Location of Valencia in Europe
Ciutat de les arts i les Ciències
Valencia, founded more than 2000 years ago by the Romans, is the third largest city in Spain. Several historic buildings, such as the La Seu Cathedral and the Silk Exchange are reminiscent of Valencia's heyday during the late Middle Ages.
The construction of the futuristic looking City of Arts and Sciences at the end of the 20th century heralded a new era for Valencia and increased its popularity as a tourist destination.
