Built as the main London terminal for the York & Midland Railway.
The building is 243 ft. wide and 600 ft. long (74 x 183 meters).
The trainshed is 100ft high (30m).
Largest railway station in the world when built in 1865.
The hotel, known as the Midland Grand Hotel was added 1868-1874. It closed in 1935.
In 2007 the station opened as St. Pancras International, home of the Eurostar.
